Indian Overseas Bank, committed to disseminate the benefits of Information Technology revolution among the Banking public, took a major step in this direction and launched Any Branch Banking. It was followed by IOB-STARS Scheme (Speedy Transfer and Realization services) which makes outward Cheque Collections almost like local clearing. The scheme of IOB-STARS extends effective customer service at a reasonable charge, through 13 Star Centers at the following locations: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Baroda, Lucknow, Ernakulam, Pune and Ludhiana. These Star Centers cater to the needs of our Star customers at 325 branches of IOB. The addresses of 13 Star Centers is furnished as an Annexure.

TWO TYPES OF SERVICES ARE OFFERED UNDER THE SCHEME:

Star Collection services covering collection of outstation cheques, |

Star Agency Services for collecting cheques for outstation customers from their local parties and transmitting proceeds to the customers.

STAR COLLECTION SERVICES
Under this scheme, Cheques drawn on any Bank in places where our Star Centers are located are accepted from Star Customers under S4 / S6 categories. Under S4 category, proceeds are collected within 4 working days and under S6 category, within 6 working days. S4 category of collection is undertaken in places where Couriers can reach overnight at all other places only S6 category will operate.
Star customers will bear Courier Charges, in addition to Service Charges.

STAR AGENCY SERVICE:
|
Under this scheme, Star Centers pick up Cheques issued by clients/Agents of Star customers of other Star Centers by engaging the services of Couriers.
|
|
As the Cheques are picked up at the drawee location and lodged in Clearing without delay, the collection period is greatly reduced when compared to Star Collection Services. Credit is offered on Day 1 / 2 basis for Star Customers availing this service. This scheme is of immense value to Corporates whose collections are spread across the country.

The Courier charges and service charges are payable by the Star customers.
|
SERVICE CHARGES:
| Rs. 3/- per Rs.1000/- with a minimum of Rs.30/- and maximum of Rs.1500/- per instrument. For customers offering higher and assured turn over, finer rates will be quoted. |
The business of individual star customer will be reviewed annually.
